University Partners

Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO)

  • Free legal clinic: aspiring lawyers work with experienced professionals, providing free legal services to families that cannot afford them. By agreement, SKIP families receive preferential treatment for their legal needs, and the lawyers frequently visit El Porvenir to meet with other families.
  • Faculty of Education: provides nursery school teachers for Saturday school and tutors during the week. 

Universidad Nacional de Trujillo (UNT)

  • Faculty of Social Work: provides interns in social work.
  • Faculty of Education: provides teachers for Saturday school and tutors during the week. 
  • Faculty of Economics: provides interns for the micro-enterprise program. 

Instituto Superior Pedagógico Santo Tomas

  • Provides tutors throughout the week for group classes. 

Universidad Cesar Vallejo (UCV)

  • Faculty of Psychology: provides interns in psychology.

 
Institutional Partners

San Lucas

  • SKIP works in cooperation with this international NGO on matters relating to health. San Lucas frequently provides medical treatment and checkups for the children and parents we support.  

Cuerpo de Paz Peru

  • The U.S. Peace Corps works in development worldwide, training volunteers and assigning them to partner agencies. In Peru, Peace Corps works in microfinance and youth development. A volunteer has been assigned to work directly with SKIP in youth development.

Advocacy Project

  • The Advocacy Project is a Washington, DC-based non-profit that works to support community-based advocates for peace and human rights. AP provides volunteer fellows and helps SKIP disseminate information to advocate for quality education and strengthen our organization.

Banco de Crédito del Peru (BCP)

  • BCP, the largest and oldest Peruvian bank, provides SKIP with funding for infrastructure projects, and helps with local fundraising. 

SIS – Ministerio de Salud

  • Institutional cooperation with the Ministry of Health allows our families easy and organized access to the state's free health insurance and to free local health centres. 

Techo Propio

  • This program of the Housing Ministry promises to help SKIP families realize the dream of their own home in the near future.

Window to the World

  • This Dutch NGO provides SKIP with funding for the micro-enterprise program. Volunteering options.

Community partners

Ecological Brigade Esperanza Verde

  • This group, focussed on environmental education, helps educate kids about the need for environmental awareness. 

Santo Toribio

  • This specialized school accepts SKIP kids with special education needs at a much reduced rate.

Colegio IndoAmericano

  • A special agreement assures SKIP kids the benefits of a large school for Saturday classes. SKIP provides volunteer English teachers for this school.
